Sailing the PocketShip
Finally, PocketShip is launched and goes for its first sail.
PocketShip is a a 15-foot gaff-rigged sloop with accommodation for two.
Build this boat from a kit or plans! It is a stitch-and-glue design, and has
a keel-centerboard arrangement. Dimensions are 14' 10" LOD, 6' 2" beam, 16"
draft (board up), and 36" draft with the centreboard down. Sail area is
148sqft, and hull weight is 800 lbs w/o crew including 270 lbs ballast in
the keel and under the floorboards.
